4 用于英语演讲中

演讲是听觉和视觉艺术，好的演讲文本往往借助多种修辞手段实现真挚情感的流露，并能使听众和观众产生共鸣，头韵就是常用的一种。头韵不仅能增加演讲的语言美，还能帮助演讲者树立形象，激发感情，增强演讲效果。

美国总统肯尼迪的就职演说共计1355个单词，头韵的运用就达27个。其中，“Let the world go forth from this time and place,to friend and foe alike,that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans.”句中“friend”和“foe”两个以/f/开头但意义相反的单词，颇具音乐美和节奏感，同时也更能吸引听众注意力。又如在“To those new states whom we welcome to the ranks of the free,we pledge our world that one form of colonial control shall not have passed away merely to be replaced by a far more iron tyranny.”中，“colonial”和“control”构成头韵，在“let us go forth to lead the land we love.”中，“lead”“land”和“love”构成三个单词的头韵。头韵的运用使语言声情交融、音义一体，增加了演说的说服力、表现力和感染力。[6]

奥巴马2008年击败共和党候选人麦凯恩，成为美国历史上第一位非裔总统。有媒体评论，奥巴马的胜利是修辞学的胜利。其演讲中有这样一句：And tonight,I think about all that she’s seen throughout her century in America — the heartache and the hope.这里，heartache和hope为头韵，读起来朗朗上口，具有强烈的节奏感、悦耳的音乐美和极强的表现力，激发了听众的共鸣。

不少美国总统候选人在竞选口号中也喜欢使用头韵，例如1896年McKinley总统的“patriotism,protection,and prosperity”，1924年Coolidge总统的“Keep cool with Coolidge”，1940年Willkie总统的“We want Willkie/Win with Willkie/Work with Willkie”，1956年 Eisenhower总统的“peace and prosperity”,1960年Nixon总统的“For the Future”等。头韵的使用成了参选人的策略，在陈述其施政纲领、向选民承诺时都发挥了积极作用。[7]

本句中的dull、drilled、docile都以辅音d开头，构成头韵，生动刻画出纳粹士兵形象，这些看似呆滞的士兵却处处暗藏杀机，让听众体会到苏联人民处境的危险。又如：

I have to declare the decision of His Majesty’s Government the great Dominions will in due course concur for we must speed out now at once,without a day’s delay.句中，丘吉尔连用两对头韵declare,decision,Dominions,day’s,delay和course,concur，不仅读起来朗朗上口，而且突出了帮助苏联打败希特勒的坚决性和紧迫性。[8]

这是马丁·路德·金在《我有一个梦想》演说中的一句名言，句中三词color、skin和content构成的/k/头韵达到的演讲效果令人震撼。[9]

在英语演讲中，头韵的恰当运用达到了内容和形式的完美结合，吸引、感染了听众，表达了情感，渲染了气氛。

5 用于广告语言中

为更有效地传播商品信息，吸引更多消费者，广告撰稿人喜欢运用头韵这一修辞手段，视觉上引人注目，听觉上朗朗上口，结构上独具风格，增强语言的节奏感、韵律美和表现力，提升广告效果。例如，中央电视台国际频道中有一档节目称作World Wide Watch(世界瞭望)，就运用了头韵，给人难忘印象。请看以下例子:

M&Ms:The milk chocolate melts in your mouth,not in your hand.

这是M&Ms巧克力豆的广告语，其中五个/m/鼻音连用构成头韵，巧克力豆含在口中，令人心旷神怡，惬意无比。广告词“只溶在口，不溶在手”已成为家喻户晓的品牌口头语。

Health,Humor&Happiness...Gifts we’d love to give.

这是美国《星期六晚报》(Saturday Evening Post)的广告词，三个/h/音构成的头韵给读者留下深刻的印象，配以省略号更给人进一步想象的空间，该报纸能够带来的不只是这些。[10]

再如在啤酒广告“My goodness!My Guinness!”中，Guinness是啤酒品牌，与表示惊叹的口语goodness构成头韵，韵美易记，节奏震撼，同时两个感叹号让人想象到饮酒时的爽快感受和画面。
